7.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Japan

 A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck the seabed Sunday in southern Japan, shaking buildings in the capital but causing no apparent damage or a tsunami.The weather bureau said the quake struck near the uninhabited island of Torishima in the Pacific Ocean, about 600 kilometers (370 miles) south of Tokyo and its epicenter was located about 370 kilometers (230 miles).The agency said there was no danger of tsunami. There was also no immediate reports of damage or injuries.Northeastern Japan was devastated by an earthquake and tsunami on 11 March last year that left nearly 20,000 dead or missing.Japan, which lies along the so-called Ring of Fire in the Pacific, is one of the most seismically active countries in the world.Buildings shook in Tokyo on Sunday, but no injuries were reported.The express trains in northern and central China were temporarily suspended for security checks but later resumed service. No abnormalities were reported in the plains of energy, including nuclear power plant damaged in northeastern Japan was hit by the disasters of last March, NHK reported
